The Water Cycle

The Water Cycle

Water is one of natures greatest gifts. It falls freely from the sky as rain. The earth has a limited amount of water. That water keeps going around and around in what we call the ‘Water Cycle’ click here to see how.

Evaporation

Evaporation

The sun’s heat turns water into an invisible gas called water vapourwhich rises into the air.

Condensation

Condesation

Clouds are formed when water vapour cools and turns back into tiny water droplets.

Precipitation

Evaporation

When the water droplets grow larger and heavier they fall back to earth as rain, hail, sleet or snow.

Transpiration

Condesation

Plants take in water through their roots and get rid of excess water through their leaves.
