Saving water

It’s not difficult to get into the habit of being smart about using water. We can dramatically reduce the amount of water we use just by making small changes.

To start with you could turn the tap off when you’re brushing your teeth. It wastes 9 litres of water a minute leaving the tap running!

Remember!

“Use as much water as you need but please don’t waste it”.

Did you know?…

1 Over one third of the water we use at home goes down the toilet – each flush can use between 6 and 13 litres of water depending on the size of the toilet cistern.

2 A running tap can use up to 9 litres of water a minute

3 A dripping tap can waste up to 30 litres of water a day

4 Garden sprinklers us an enormous amount of water, up to 650 litres per hour. That’s as much as one person would use in 4 days.
