Education Centres

There's so much to see and do at our Education Centres

Alwen Cog Moors Cilfynydd Elan Valley

Award-winning days out for learners, young and old!

Come to one of our four Education Centres for a perfect day out - totally FREE of charge! Each centre runs a range of fun, practical activities and programmes so that children can experience the amazing world of water at firsthand.

All lessons are led by specialist seconded teaching staff, in fully-equipped classrooms, and all are linked to the National Curriculum for Key Stage 2 including the transitional years of Yr 2 and Yr 7. What's more, we develop new lessons every year - so there's always something different to learn. Plus, every pupil that visits one of our centres also receives a FREE drinking water bottle as part of our 'Think Water - Dewis Dŵr' campaign.

Two of our education centres have achieved Eco-Centre Status.

Eco-Centre Status

Qualified Eco-Schools Assessors from Keep Wales Tidy have assessed and approved Welsh Water's Environmental Education Centres at Cilfynydd near Pontypridd and Cog Moors near Cardiff as achieving Eco-Centre Status and both have been awarded the coveted Green Flag. The Centres, are required to achieve all the essential elements of the Eco-Centre programme and promote environmental awareness to its visitors and encourage them to take part in action to help reduce our environmental footprint.

Theme weeks to spark the imagination

We regularly hold theme weeks at our Education Centres. There's National Tree Week during November, National Birdbox Week during February, and many others held all year round. Click here to find out more...
